Hey, everyone! Welcome back to my blog, where I share my thoughts on life, and everything in between. Today, I want to talk about the power of friendship and how it can sometimes be stronger than family ties.
You know the saying, right? Blood is thicker than water. It means that family bonds are stronger than any other ties and that you should always stick with your relatives no matter what. Well, I’m here to tell you that this is not always true. Sometimes, your friends can be more loyal, supportive, and understanding than your flesh and blood. And sometimes, your family can betray you, hurt you, or abandon you when you need them the most.

I learned this the hard way when I had a falling out with my cousin, who was like a sister to me. We grew up together, shared everything, and had each other’s backs. But then, she did something unforgivable. She stole my boyfriend. Yes, you heard me right. She seduced him behind my back and then lied to me about it for months. When I found out, I was devastated. I felt betrayed by the two people I trusted the most.
But you know who was there for me? My best friend. She was the one who told me the truth, who comforted me, who helped me heal. She was the one who showed me that friendship is not based on blood but on trust, respect, and love. She was the one who proved to me that blood is not always thicker than water.

They had been friends for a long time, but life had kept them apart. So when they finally met for a game of basketball in the park, they hugged and smiled with tears in their eyes. They talked about everything and nothing, laughing and crying, listening and understanding. They felt a connection that was deeper than words, a bond that only true friends could share. They knew they had to part ways soon, but they also knew they would always be there for each other, no matter what. They gave each other a high five and looked into each other’s eyes, feeling grateful for having such a precious friendship. Then they started to play, dribbling and shooting, enjoying the friendly competition and the fresh air.

So, what’s the lesson here? Don’t take your friends for granted. Don’t assume that your family will always be there for you. Don’t let anyone treat you badly just because they share your DNA. And don’t be afraid to cut off toxic people from your life, even if they are related to you. Remember, your true family is not determined by blood but by choice.
